Sustainable Raw Materials
TEX has pledged to be the first zipper company to move 100% of its manufacturing to recycled polyester by the year 2040. Having made our first recycled zipper in 2008, we have now successfully moved 5.5% of our manufacturing to R.E. Zippers. Our Re- Engineered Zipper tapes are made of 100% GRS certified recycled polyester yarn. For every 1 KG of recycled yarn, 30 post-consumer PET bottles (500ml) are removed from the ecosystem.
This further helps in making 700+ bottom zippers. Though the cost of making recycled yarn is higher than virgin yarn, we have optimised this technology and its supply chain to bring you the best possible product without compromising on quality.
TEX is pioneering as the first company to establish an in-house recycling alloy plant, enabling comprehensive control over product quality. Our metal trims boast GRS and LCA certifications, underscoring their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
TEX has successfully established a recycling supply chain through a collaborative partnership with a reputable brass foundry. The foundry has been audited and approved by GRS. As a part of this sustainable process, brass scrap is sent to the foundry for reprocessing, resulting in reusable material ready for production.
